Our friend, Alaina Barnes, is a creative artist for Aveda North America. Her years of industry experience as an editorial hairstylist is beyond impressive. She's supported and led style teams for fashion weeks in New York, London, Paris, Milan, and most recently, Camp Poosh in Palm Springs. When Alaina called SC to style her models for the Midwest Hair Styling Awards we said without hesitation -"Yes! How can we serve?".
Style Counsel was to evolve Alaina's vision for the photoshoot into the wardrobe. The theme developed was euphoric, mystical, and dreamy. We had high creative standards to fulfill on a lean budget. Luckily, this dynamic challenge lights us up!
On the day of the shoot, we worked with the Aveda North American Artistic Team, which included stylists from around the country, who helped Alaina and Alisha Wegner with their competition submission. Vanessa Witmash was the creative director + Patrick Ina was the photographer.
Nothing speaks more clearly than the visual story from this project. We wish Alaina and Alisha the best of luck in the competition on September 17th! However, seeing the dedication to intentionally create dynamic art with a serious focus on the outcome, we feel they already won.
It was an experience we'll never forget and we are so grateful to have been a part of it.
